Your entitled to get a job. It is amazing how short and to the point you are about getting a handout. If you could not afford the first one, you should not have gotten pregnant the second time. I am sick and tired of my tax money going to people who feel "entitled" to a handout. Act like an adult and take care of your own responsibilities rather than expecting someone else to pick up the tab for you. Short answer, go to work, act like an adult and take care of your own issues; that is what you are entitled to!
Harbaugh was in on the game planning. Harbaugh was the guy relaying the plays from Roman to Kaepernick and he occasionally would change the play. And if you wonder if that's why the 49ers had so much trouble with the play-clock,hollister co, well, I think it's certainly one of the reasons.
What is the avant-garde? It can be difficult to define in exact words, but it usually has something to do with originality, breaking the mold and looking toward the future. In its latest exhibition, the Orange County Museum of Art is exploring the avant-garde as exemplified in its growing permanent collection. “The Avant-Garde Collection,http://www.hollisterclothing.name,” curated by OCMA chief curator Dan Cameron and assistant curator Fatima Manalili, features about 100 artworks and runs through Jan. 4. This exhibit starts chronologically with Stanton MacDonald-Wright’s fine painting, Untitled (“Vase of Flowers”), an oil on canvas from 1924-25,Head DECK, which is an excellent example of the artist’s concept of synchromism. MacDonald-Wright and fellow artist Morgan Russell championed this movement, which sought to make connections between color and music. “The Avant-Garde Collection” hits upon major art movements of the 20st century and takes the viewer up to 2013, with William Powhida’s quizzical sculpture and accompanying painting, midfielders Danielle Spickard, “A Post Minimalism.” If you’ve visited OCMA any time in the last decade, many of these works will look familiar. Quite a few have been featured before in permanent exhibition shows, or in original exhibits such as “Girls Night Out” or “State of Mind.” Chris Burden’s room-sized installation, unskilled workers were hired , “A Tale of Two Cities” (created in 1981), has been shown at OCMA several times, hollister, including 1988, 2000 and 2007. The sprawling piece – which features three tons of sand and rock and 5,000 war toys from the United States, hollister clothing, Japan and Europe – still resonates with meaning,Friendship Baptist Church, hollister clothing store, even today as this country engages in military action in Iraq and Syria. The binoculars in the gallery add the nifty element of being able to change perspectives on Burden’s imaginary conflict. “The Avant-Garde Collection” features colorful, inventive works in OCMA’s main hall, plus the space to let them breathe. These include Sam Tchakalian’s massive oil on canvas “Dipstick” (1974), Miriam Shapiro’s geometric acrylic on canvas “Arbor” (1967), William T. Wiley’s map-like charcoal and acrylic on canvas “Little Ladder for Maya” (1981), and DeWain Valentine’s shiny resin and fiberglass sculpture “Pink Top” (1965). Ronald Davis’ huge painting, “#550 – Unfold and Arc” (1977) fits the back wall nicely. Inside the galleries, this exhibition is arranged roughly chronologically, and there are many impressive works to be seen. My favorites would be “Modern Composition” (1943) by Emil James Bisttram, a co-founder in 1938 of the important Transcendental Painting Group in Santa Fe,www.hollisterclothing.name, N.M.; “Homage to the Square, Dry Season” (1967) by the highly influential Josef Albers; “Prisoner of Love #4” (1992), a powerful oil and gesso on linen by Glenn Ligon; and “Sling-Shots Lit #4” (1985), an illuminated assemblage by the incomparable Robert Rauschenberg. Helen Lundeberg’s “Sloping Horizon,” a 1960 oil on canvas, is pretty exquisite too. And is Nam June Paik cool, or what? His video “Global Grooves” (1973) alternates between disco dancers, Native American chants and drum beats, and Technicolor blurs. He was a true pioneer of video art and installation. One thing must be said about “The Avant-Garde Collection.” If this is a celebration of the avant-garde, which holds originality as one of its key tenets, then why do so many works look like achievements by other artists? Mitchell Syrop’s “The Gift that Keeps on Giving” (1986) looks exactly like John Baldessari’s numerous text-on-canvas paintings. Hans Burkhardt’s “Mexican Cock Fight” (1952) looks like Arshile Gorky’s paintings from the 1940s. Hassel Smith’s Untitled oil on canvas (1958) looks like Philip Guston’s celebrated abstract oils on canvas. Even one of the centerpieces of the show, Doug Wheeler’s amazing Untitled (1968), is strikingly reminiscent of another Los Angeles artist. Wheeler’s work at OCMA consists of a vacuum-formed Plexiglas square with sprayed lacquer on an acrylic, magnetic transformer, nestled in a pristine, pure white room. Only two (or five, depending on which sign you read) people are allowed inside at one time. This is very similar to light and space works by James Turrell, whose game-changing retrospective at the L.A. County Museum of Art ended in April. I know a lot of these guys worked together and were influenced by each other. But if they are copying each other, is it still avant-garde? For those looking for something deep and original, check out “Spalding Gray’s Map of L.A.,” a 1984 single-channel video by Bruce and Norman Yonemoto. In this video, the late actor and writer talks about driving in Los Angeles, and recalls the summer of 1967, when he was returning from vacation in Mexico City. His mother had committed suicide while he was away, and his father while picking him up could only say, “She’s gone. She’s gone.” It’s an emotional, haunting remembrance by someone, who sadly, departed us the same way in 2004. Contact the writer: 714-796-6026 or
